Man's suicide attempt fails when his van gets stuck on a rock
The 34-year-old guy's van careened 120 feet into Red Canyon onto a rock overhang. If it had missed the overhang by 10 feet, the van would have plummeted the entire 300 feet to the bottom of the canyon. The man has severe neck and back injuries.
Daniel J. Lyons drove his van off a road in the steep, red-rock canyons of Colorado National Monument, and the vehicle dropped, tumbled and rolled 120 feet before getting snagged on brush and a rock ledge.
